Marjorie was born on April 8, 1930, in Niskayuna, NY. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth Palmer and Florence Louise Sack. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband of 53 years, Richard G. Hobday, and her brothers Gordon and Kenneth. Together, Marjorie and Richard fostered a vibrant musical life, participating in various groups including the Schenectady Choral Society and the Burnt Hills Oratorio Society. Their shared love for the arts also included hosting an annual Holiday Art Show Open House for over forty years, showcasing their creative works.

Marjorie’s life narrative is marked by resilience, shaped by her experiences during the Great Depression. She thrived in creativity, whether through crafting or gardening, and cherished summers at their camp on the Sacandaga Reservoir, where cherished memories of canoeing and square dances were made.

“Marjorie will be remembered for her grace, creativity, and the harmony she brought to both her family and her community,” said a family spokesperson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Calvary Episcopal Church or the Estherville Animal Shelter at 100 Russell Road, Greenfield Center, NY 12833.
