UPDATE: A man has been arrested in a shocking stabbing incident near City High School Stadium in San Diego this morning. The San Diego Police Department (SDPD) confirmed the arrest of Hollis Hunt, 56, after a violent confrontation unfolded around 7:59 AM at 1313 Park Blvd.
The victim, a male, suffered a one-inch laceration to his left upper arm after Hunt allegedly attacked him while he was leaving the stadium’s parking lot. This alarming incident has raised concerns in the community, as it took place near a school during early morning hours.
Officers quickly responded to the scene and located a man matching Hunt’s description at 1600 C Street. Upon detaining him, they discovered a knife protruding from his pants pocket. Given the suspect’s non-compliance and the presence of the weapon, police escalated their response by deploying less lethal rounds and releasing a service dog to assist in the apprehension.
Hunt now faces multiple charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and obstructing police. After a medical evaluation, he was booked into the San Diego Central Jail.
The SDPD has taken over the investigation and is urging anyone with information related to this incident to come forward. Tips can be directed to the Central Division or to Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
As this story develops, community members are encouraged to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities, especially in areas close to schools. Further updates will follow as more details emerge from the ongoing investigation.
