The crash happened when a 2023 Freightliner semi truck, driven by Daniel John Kalwasinski, 37, of Rochester, collided with a 2008 Chevrolet Impala at the intersection of County Road 7 and the Interstate 90 eastbound exit ramp. The driver of the Impala, Johnathan Curtis Gerow, 41, from Hayward, Wisconsin, was seriously injured and transported to Mayo Clinic Hospital-Saint Marys. However, the situation turned tragic as the passenger, a 34-year-old woman from La Crosse, Wisconsin, sadly lost her life in the crash.
