Dräger Achieves Perfect Cybersecurity Score in DoD Certification

Dräger, Inc., a subsidiary of the Dräger group, has attained the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Level 2 with a flawless score of 110. This achievement underscores the company’s commitment to advanced cybersecurity practices and compliance with standards set by the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD). The certification confirms that Dräger meets all requirements outlined in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) SP 800-171 framework.

The certification process involved a thorough evaluation by a certified CMMC Third Party Assessment Organization (C3PAO). Dräger was recognized for successfully implementing all mandated security controls, which encompass critical areas such as access management, incident response, training, and continuous system monitoring.

Commitment to Cybersecurity Excellence

Rick Sullivan, Vice President of Government & Healthcare IT Sales at Dräger, emphasized the significance of this certification. “In today’s environment of escalating cyber threats, achieving CMMC Level 2 certification is more than a compliance milestone — it reflects Dräger’s unwavering commitment to cybersecurity excellence and the protection of sensitive government data,” he stated. This achievement positions Dräger as a trusted partner to both the DoD and the Veterans Health Administration, demonstrating that the company’s security standards meet the highest levels of assurance expected by its clients.

Lothar Thielen, President and CEO of Dräger North America, highlighted the foundational role of cybersecurity within the company’s mission. “Cybersecurity is not just an IT priority — it is a core element of trust in every solution we deliver,” he remarked. Thielen pointed out that across both the Medical and Safety divisions, Dräger’s mission is to protect, support, and save lives. The perfect score achieved in the CMMC Level 2 certification reflects this shared commitment to excellence, reinforcing the confidence customers place in Dräger to safeguard their personnel, patients, and missions.

Importance of CMMC Level 2 Certification

The CMMC Level 2 certification is essential for companies managing Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) as part of their contracts with the DoD and Veterans Affairs. Dräger’s certification places it among a select group of defense and healthcare technology providers that meet one of the federal government’s most stringent cybersecurity standards.

Additionally, Dräger noted that many of its medical devices have received Risk Management Framework (RMF) accreditation. This further underscores the company’s ongoing dedication to delivering secure, compliant, and mission-critical solutions to its government, defense, and healthcare partners.

As cybersecurity threats continue to rise, Dräger’s exceptional performance in the CMMC certification process reflects not only its operational strength but also its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security in the healthcare and defense sectors.
