Grand Forks County Commission to Interview 16 Candidates for Vacant Seat

A total of sixteen residents from Grand Forks County have applied for the vacant seat on the Grand Forks County Commission. This vacancy arose following the untimely death of Commissioner Cynthia Pic on February 13, 2023. The Commission will conduct interviews during a special meeting scheduled for 10 a.m. on Wednesday to evaluate the candidates.

The selected applicant will serve as an interim commissioner until November 30, 2024. Following this interim period, the chosen candidate’s name will appear on the ballot for the upcoming 2026 election. The individual elected will assume office on December 1, 2024 and will complete the remaining two-year term.

The county announced the opening for applications on February 25.
