IDF Reports 20,900 Attacks, Interrogates 3,100 Terrorists in 2025

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced significant military operations and intelligence activities in its recently released 2025 statistics. The IDF reported executing approximately 20,900 attacks across various fronts, resulting in the deaths of around 2,100 Hamas terrorists. This comprehensive overview highlights the IDF’s aggressive stance and operational reach within the region.

Unit 504’s Interrogation Operations

According to the IDF, its intelligence Unit 504, often referred to as “the IDF’s Mossad,” played a pivotal role in gathering information by interrogating 3,100 terrorists throughout the year. Of these interrogations, 1,600 took place in Israeli detention centers, while 1,500 were conducted in the field immediately after capture. Conducting interrogations in the field presents unique challenges, as interrogators often operate in hostile conditions and with detainees who may be physically or emotionally compromised following recent conflicts.

Field interrogations are particularly valuable, as they can yield immediate intelligence crucial for thwarting further terror attacks and capturing key terrorist figures before they can relocate. They have also contributed to locating hostages, both alive and deceased, during the ongoing Israel-Hamas War. Conversely, interrogations in detention facilities typically focus on longer-term strategic goals, fostering deeper intelligence insights over time.

Broader Military Engagements and Casualties

The IDF’s military operations encompassed a wide array of targets, with 19,530 located in Gaza alone. The IDF reported killing four brigade-level commanders and 14 battalion-level commanders during its operations in this region, reflecting a concentrated effort to dismantle Hamas’s leadership. The sole remaining brigade commander from the pre-war era is Az al-din al-Hadad, the current leader of Hamas in Gaza.

In total, the IDF reportedly killed around 380 Hezbollah terrorists during operations in Lebanon, where it targeted approximately 950 locations. Furthermore, the IDF indicated that Hezbollah committed 1,920 ceasefire violations during the year, although the nature of these violations varied significantly across different areas.

In the West Bank, the IDF’s operations resulted in the deaths of 230 terrorists and the arrest of 7,400 Palestinians. Only 1,190 of the arrestees were reported to be affiliated with Hamas, prompting questions about the level of threat posed by the remaining detainees. The IDF did not disclose details regarding the number of detainees returned to Hamas during recent hostage exchanges.

Additionally, the IDF confiscated approximately NIS 16,480,000 from Palestinian terrorists in the West Bank, demonstrating its commitment to disrupting financial channels supporting terrorism.

The IDF also targeted Houthi operations in Yemen, executing 20 aerial operations that struck 230 targets. Many of these strikes were repeat attacks on previously targeted sites, aimed at hindering Houthi recovery efforts.

The casualty report indicates that in 2025, 91 IDF soldiers were killed, with 821 sustaining serious injuries. While these numbers represent a concerning toll, they reflect a significant decrease compared to the previous two years. Additionally, the IDF Home Front Command established 1,500 new mini-safe-houses and improved around 200 larger bomb shelters to enhance civilian safety during ongoing conflicts.

The navy also participated in military efforts, conducting 50 attacks and spending a remarkable 130,000 hours at sea. Throughout the year, a total of 306,830 reservists served in the IDF, underscoring the mobilization of resources in response to persistent regional tensions.

These statistics collectively illustrate the IDF’s extensive military engagement and intelligence operations over the past year, indicating a sustained focus on counter-terrorism and regional security.
