Singer D4vd Investigated as Suspect in Teen’s Death

Los Angeles police are investigating singer D4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke, as a suspect in the death of Celeste Rivas, a 15-year-old girl. Her decomposed remains were discovered on September 8, 2024, in his Tesla vehicle, which had been abandoned and impounded following reports from neighbors.

According to law enforcement sources, the investigation is being treated as a potential homicide. The remains were found concealed in a plastic bag in the vehicle’s front trunk. Due to severe decomposition, officials were unable to determine the individual’s sex at the time of discovery, indicating that the body may have been hidden for an extended period amidst the intense heat of the Los Angeles summer.

Investigators believe that Rivas’ death likely occurred in spring 2024, with indications suggesting that D4vd may have received assistance in dismembering and disposing of the body. The medical examiner has yet to establish a cause and manner of death, pending toxicology results, according to reports from ABC News and NBC4 Los Angeles.

Family members reported Rivas missing on April 5, 2024. Her brother, Matthew Rivas, mentioned that the family was aware of her acquaintance with D4vd. Additionally, reports from TMZ indicate that Rivas’ mother stated her daughter was dating someone named “David” at the time she disappeared.

D4vd, who gained prominence through viral hits on TikTok, has canceled his world tour following the discovery of Rivas’ remains. He has not publicly addressed the ongoing investigation, and sources indicate that he has not been cooperative with authorities.

The case is currently under the jurisdiction of the LAPD’s Robbery-Homicide Division, which is working diligently to uncover the circumstances surrounding Rivas’ tragic death. The investigation continues as authorities seek more information about the events leading to her disappearance and the involvement of the singer.
