Toyota and Honda Unveil Pokemon-Inspired Models at Mobility Show

At the Japan Mobility Show, taking place at Tokyo Big Sight, Toyota Motor Corp. and Honda Motor Co. have unveiled innovative models inspired by beloved characters from the Pokemon franchise. The display features two vehicles, each designed to embody the essence of the characters Miraidon and Koraidon, which resemble dragons and can transform into motorcycle-like forms. This collaboration aims to highlight the joy of manufacturing and creativity in automotive design.

Innovative Designs Capture Pokemon Spirit

The Miraidon model, created by Toyota, measures approximately 4 meters (about 13 feet) in length. In contrast, Honda’s Koraidon model was developed following the success of Toyota’s initiative, which began with a group of enthusiastic in-house volunteers collaborating with The Pokemon Company. This creative effort kicked off in 2024, ultimately inspiring Honda to introduce its own Koraidon model in March of this year.

Honda’s Koraidon is equipped with advanced technology that allows it to drive autonomously on two wheels. This innovation leverages the same technology utilized in the company’s Asimo humanoid robot, showcasing Honda’s commitment to merging fun and functionality in its vehicle designs. The collaboration between these two automotive giants reflects a shared vision of integrating entertainment with mobility.

Showcase of the Future of Mobility

The Japan Mobility Show, which opens its doors to the public today and will run through November 9, 2023, serves as a platform for showcasing the latest advancements in vehicles and technology.
