Tombstone Seeks Volunteers for ‘Road To 250’ Museum Event

The City of Tombstone, Arizona, is actively seeking volunteers for the upcoming ‘Road To 250’ museum event, scheduled for March 13 and 14, 2024. This traveling museum will showcase interactive exhibits focused on American and Arizona history, including a replica of the iconic Liberty Bell. As one of several locations in Cochise County and Southern Arizona selected to host this event, Tombstone anticipates a significant influx of visitors.

City Clerk Charissa Presti emphasized the importance of community involvement, stating, “The reason why we’re asking for volunteers is because we want to make sure that the visitors have the best experience here.” Presti noted that previous hosts of the museum reported daily attendance in the thousands, necessitating a robust volunteer presence to ensure smooth operations.

Emphasizing Tombstone’s Historical Significance

Presti highlighted Tombstone’s rich historical background as a contributing factor for hosting the museum. “We are rich in history in itself, and not only do we celebrate America’s history and America’s birthday, but Tombstone has a vital role in that,” she explained. The city aims to honor its Old West heritage while also showcasing the broader narrative of American history.

Residents interested in volunteering can reach out to Tombstone’s City Hall at (520) 457-2202 to sign up. The community’s involvement will play a crucial role in creating an engaging experience for the expected large crowds, reinforcing Tombstone’s commitment to preserving and celebrating its unique history.
