Pure DC Accelerates Middle East Expansion with Major Abu Dhabi and Riyadh Data Hub Upgrades

Pure DC Supercharges Middle East Data Centre Growth with Power Boost and New Saudi Campus

Pure Data Centres Group (Pure DC), a leading hyperscale data centre operator, has revealed aggressive expansion moves across the Middle East, ramping capacity at its critical Abu Dhabi AUH01 site and greenlighting a new hyperscale campus in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

With final approval from TAQA, Pure DC is increasing its Abu Dhabi IT capacity from 41MW to 48MW through advanced design optimization and upgraded power infrastructure. This capacity leap aims to meet surging demand, including for resource-heavy AI workloads, underscoring the company’s rapid scaling in one of the world’s most strategic digital markets.

The AUH01 campus, set on a sprawling 16-acre site, already operates one 20MW building, supplying initial hyperscale data hall capacity expected to be delivered to customers in 2026. Cooling technologies combine air and liquid methods, ensuring the facility caters to diverse deployment needs. Notably, Pure DC matched 100% of the site’s projected 2026 electricity consumption with International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-RECs) sourced from solar power at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in the UAE, reducing operational carbon emissions and pushing toward sustainable energy goals.

New Saudi Joint Venture to Build Massive Riyadh Campus

Beyond the UAE, Pure DC has partnered with Dune Vaults to form a joint venture targeting Riyadh’s growing digital infrastructure demand. The new RUH01 campus will occupy a colossal 270,000 m² site with an initial capacity of 57.6MW across two buildings. The ambitious facility is designed for extensive growth, with scalability plans to exceed 100MW as regional data traffic intensifies.

Gary Wojtaszek, Executive Chairman and Interim CEO at Pure DC, commented:

“Our sites deliver uninterrupted service, reflecting resilience that underpins our Middle East presence. Digital demand remains unchanged despite geopolitical challenges, and we are fully committed to building world-class digital infrastructure that supports the region’s future-ready ambitions.”

This expansion is a critical moment for the Middle East’s digital transformation, aligning with national goals for enterprise modernization, government digitization, and workforce development. The enhanced Abu Dhabi campus and new Riyadh project place Pure DC at the forefront of a digital revolution fueled by hyperscale infrastructure and green energy initiatives.

For Delaware and US technology stakeholders, these developments signal increasing global demand for advanced data centres powered by sustainable energy, highlighting the strategic importance of Middle East hubs in the global digital supply chain and cloud ecosystem.

Pure DC’s continuing investments highlight tech industry resilience amid shifting macro-political landscapes. The company’s focus on scaling capacity and sustainability positions it as a key player in enabling AI, cloud services, and digital government platforms crucial to the Middle East’s ambitious growth trajectories.

The company anticipates its Abu Dhabi capacity increase to be fully operational by 2026, with Riyadh’s campus ground-breaking expected soon, marking a new chapter in hyperscale data centre deployment in the region.
