Miami’s esteemed ensemble, Mostly Baroque, will debut at the Adrienne Arsht Center with a captivating three-concert series taking place from February 26 to March 1, 2026. This series, hosted in the Carnival Studio Theater, promises to showcase a wide range of classical performances, appealing to diverse audience preferences.
Dr. David O. Hartman, the Music Director of Mostly Baroque, expressed enthusiasm for the event, stating, “Mostly Baroque is proud to present an exclusive series showcasing the full breadth of classical performance that audiences love—from opera and oratorio to orchestral, solo choir and solo recitals—all within a three-concert experience.” With over 25 years of collaboration among its musicians, the ensemble aims to deliver an unforgettable artistic experience.
The series features an impressive lineup of vocal performances. On February 27, 2026, renowned bass-baritone and composer Johan Hartman will lead a 60-minute recital. The performance will include Finzi’s “Let Us Garlands Bring” and Jacques Ibert’s “Don Quichotte songs”, performed in multiple languages including English, French, German, and Italian. Hartman will also showcase original selections from his debut EP, “Blood and the Moon,” released on Constitution Records.
The series will culminate on March 1, 2026, with a special production of Pergolesi’s “La Serva Padrona.” This production will star both Hartman and soprano Yi-Chun Sarah Tsai. The performance will also feature guest artists from the Miami Oratorio Society, who will present spirituals by Florence Price and choruses from Händel’s “Messiah.” They will be joined by the Mostly Baroque Chamber Orchestra, further enriching the concert experience.
This concert series offers a unique opportunity for classical music enthusiasts to engage with a rich tapestry of performances that highlight both established works and contemporary pieces. As the orchestra prepares for this exciting debut, anticipation is building for what promises to be a landmark event in Miami’s cultural calendar.
